Jeffrey Wright
September 17, 1947~March 16, 2023(age 75)
Jeffrey D. Wright, age 75, of Carroll, Ohio suddenly passed away on Thursday, March 16, 2023 at Fairfield Medical Hospital.
Jeff was born September 17, 1947 in Newark, Ohio to the late Douglas and Marian (Priest) Wright. He graduated from Whitehall-Yearling High School in 1965 and attended Henry Ford Community College in Dearborn, Michigan.
He joined the United States Air Force where he served from 1965 to 1968 receiving an honorable discharge as a Sergeant. During his time in the service he received Air Force Commendation Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal and Good Conduct Medal. Jeff was invited to Honor Flight on September 23, 2021 which he felt was a great privilege.
Jeff was known for his heart of service; he volunteered for the Suicide Prevention Center Hotline Detroit & Columbus, Fairhope Hospice, was Board Member of Olivedale Senior Center, Military Veterans of Olivedale and was a member of Knights of Columbus-Lancaster and VFW 10523, Canal Winchester. Jeff was an avid fan of The Ohio State University Buckeyes.
Though Jeff did many things throughout his life, he felt his greatest accomplishment was his family.
Jeff is survived by Cindy, his wife of 51 years; daughters, Michelle (Mike) Bonnette and Melissa (Myron) Blansette; grandchildren, Alex, Devyn and Hunter; siblings, Brenda Lane, Jerry Wright, Paula Szymczak and Joe Wright; dear friend, Fred Hall; and numerous loved ones and friends. He is greeted in heaven by his parents; sisters, Jeanette Hager and Joni Betterly; and granddaughter, Katherine Rose Bonnette.
Family and friends are invited to visit Wednesday, March 22, from 4-7 pm at the Dwayne R. Spence Funeral Home, Canal Winchester, a vigil service will start at 6:30pm. A funeral Mass will be held at The Basilica of St. Mary of the Assumption, Thursday, March 23, at 10:30 am, interment at Floral Hills Memory Gardens.
The Military Veterans Of Olivedale provides support, in the form of monetary and voluntary help, to community veterans groups assisting homeless and otherwise distressed veterans. It also promotes social contact and provides activities among former members of the United States military who are members of the Olivedale Senior Center.
Military Veterans of Olivedale is a 501(c)(3) Charity.
