Of Olivedale
Bobby L. Devol, 85, of Lancaster, passed away Monday, December 10, 2018 at Fairfield Medical Center in Lancaster. He was born May 4, 1933 in Hocking County, Ohio, son of the late John R. and Cannabelle Sweazy Devol. Bobby was married to Eunice Jones Devol, who survives.
He was a retired salesman for Dannie’s Mobile Homes in Lancaster, was a Korean Conflict Army Veteran and attended Smith Chapel United Methodist Church. Bobby also worked at Fairfield Medical Center and was a volunteer at the hospital as well as Smith Chapel Food Pantry.
He is survived by his son, Randal L. (Jessica) Devol of Lancaster; daughter, Sandra (Colin) Stump of Lancaster; grandchildren, David (Pamela) Stump, Monique (Sean) Fox and Jacqueline (Ryan) Nida; great grandchildren, Brooks Stump and Noah Fox and a brother, Dannie (Jane) Devol of Logan.
In addition to his parents, Bobby was preceded in death by his brothers, Anthony, Donald, Phillip, David and Johnnie Devol and sisters, Dorothy Spence, Adrian Blake, Velma Jones, Mary Barnhart and Thelma Devol.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m., Wednesday, December 12, 2018 in the Cardaras Funeral Home, 183 E. Second St., Logan, with Pastor Dave Sherman officiating. Interment will be in New Fairview Memorial Gardens, Rockbridge, with military graveside services being conducted by the Hocking County Honor Guard. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday, from 12 p.m. until the time of the service.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made in memory of Bobby L. Devol to the Smith Chapel United Methodist Church, c/o Diane Campbell, 421 E. Second St., Logan, Ohio 43138.
The Military Veterans Of Olivedale provides support, in the form of monetary and voluntary help, to community veterans groups assisting homeless and otherwise distressed veterans. It also promotes social contact and provides activities among former members of the United States military who are members of the Olivedale Senior Center.
